About Residency
Karmê Chöling Residency provides an opportunity to practice meditation, study Buddhism and share life with like-minded people determined to live meaningfully in these turbulent times. There are currently 30 housemates living at Karmê Chöling for the next three months to three years — and there is room for more.
Deepen your practice
No matter where you are on your path, you’ll find opportunities to deepen your practice at Karmê Chöling. We have multiple shrine rooms and shared spaces for contemplation, and offer household meditation sessions twice a day, as well as reading and study groups. Our dharma library is extensive.

Sacred forest and fields
The land is a great resource for rejuvenation, adventure, and good health—and our 750 acres of pine-and-maple forest are yours to hike and wander.
Work from home
We have excellent wi-fi, and office space options are available at the Main House and at our administrative offices on Church Street in Barnet, a mile from Karmê Chöling.
All Inclusive
Not least of all, we have a generous dining room where friendships, momos and tormas have been made for decades. Our stellar kitchen crew prepares meals every day, often with ingredients from our one-acre organic garden. The food is delicious.
Is Residency for me?
We know not everyone has space in their lives to move to a dharma center in rural Vermont, but if you share our deep conviction in basic goodness, you may be interested in learning more about living in a community with other Warriors on the path.
Or check out our Residency webpage or FAQs for more details.
