About Karme Choling Executive Director Betsy Railla
Betsy Railla grew up in the woods of West Virginia, enjoying hours outdoors and environmental activism. After earning her masters and pursuing a career in International Development working as a contractor for USAID and WWF, Betsy moved to Shambhala Mountain Center in 2008 to deepen her practice “for a year”. Since then, Betsy has worked at the Boulder Shambhala Center, Shambhala International, and was Shabchi to the Sakyong Wangmo.
